Scope & Content |
Charlotte Grobbel donated photos of her family at the Romeo Community Archives Scanning Party in February 2025. They span from the 1920s to 1960. Her great-grandfather Henry Lee was the original owner of the residence on 356 North Main Street in Romeo. It was built in 1899. He resided there until the late 1920s. Henry had four children: Emily, Laura, Franklin, and Gilbert Lee. Laura is Charlotte's grandmother. She married Ezra Havers in 1911, and they had four kids: Henry "Lee," William "Billy," Dorothy, and Albert "Kret" Havers. That family rented the home on 104 West Gates Street until 1927 when they moved into the house on North Main Street. Dorothy married Frank Murphy in 1942. They would have six children: Patrick, Diane, Veronica, Cynthia, Bill, and Charlotte. |
